The ID Way Experience
Transformative professional development that feels like a personal development retreat
Registration is now closed.
You can only serve as a guide to places you’ve been yourself.
Our clients’ needs are changing far faster than our organizations, our professions, and our practices.
- What if, rather than running to keep pace, you slowed down to learn a profoundly new way of working?
- What if, rather than separating your personal development and professional development, you could do both at the time?
The ID Way Experience offers a more spacious and natural approach to learning and development. It’s your opportunity to integrate the best of who you are and what you’ve learned to create a new way forward. And, because you will be developing yourself alongside your skills, the Experience will enrich your capacity to do this in any aspect of your life and work.
It is a call to be more…
✔️ Courageous in helping our clients deal with the real issues they face;
✔️ Aligned with the consistent evidence around what actually makes a difference for clients; and
✔️ Natural in how we do what we do.
It all starts with trusting yourself.
The ID Way Experience integrates two strands of The Moment Institute's work — Narrative Release (NR) and Integrative Development (ID) — into a single methodology and learning space. These two bodies of work from Dr David Drake (the founder of Narrative Coaching) are built around the same frame and share the same purpose: to enable practitioners to liberate the learning and development potential in ANY moment.
NR is the inner journey that enables practitioners to slow down to recognize the moment and its potential. ID is the outer journey that enables practitioners to know what to do in those moments.
Together, they will equip you to stand in the unknown and at thresholds with your clients as you re-imagine and re-build your communities, organizations, and lives.
The focus is on your maturation as a practitioner, not more stuff to consume. That is why we have created an Experience, not a Program. We are not teaching you ID, you will be experiencing ID. As a result, you will deepen your trust in yourself to be and work with what IS... so that you can guide your clients to do the same.
Get to the heart of what matters.
The practitioners who join us in 2023 recognize that they need to do the deeper work on themselves so they can BE with their clients and the issues they face.
Fancy formulas, trendy buzzwords, overflowing toolkits, and ever-changing ‘best practices’ are outdated methods for supporting client growth. The path to better client outcomes starts with freeing yourself so you are no longer boxed in by old ways of working.
The ID Way Experience will enable you to compost what you no longer need and to show up in new ways to your life and work.
- While your clients appreciate what you know… most of what they face is in the unknown.
- They may appreciate what you can do for them… but most of what they need is connected to how to be with each other.
- They may appreciate what you deliver for them in pursuit of an ideal for later… yet what they’re grappling with is what is real in the moment.
We are all called now to choose a new way forward, not chase outdated ways of working. We will show you how, so that you can masterfully do the same for others.
Work instinctively with what’s natural...
The ID Way Experience is a safe and generous space for exploration and experimentation around how to work with the potential in the moment rather than the plans that were made in advance. You will learn how to notice and address the inner and outer dynamics that are present when you are working with clients.
What you learn will enable you to have greater impact — whether in running a workshop, facilitating a conversation, or developing leaders.
You will learn how to:
- Quiet and attune yourself so that you notice more;
- Connect human to human as the basis for a working relationship;
- "Read" the moment and in the field to discern what the client is ready for and needs most right now;
- Invite the client to step into these moments in service of what they are seeking to become; and
- Offer the scaffolding they need to make the most of the moment and its potential.
In The ID Way Experience, you will learn the essential elements of the spiritual philosophy that underpins the work of Dr. David Drake. This includes an inside look at his powerful work at thresholds at his retreats. What if you could do that with your clients in ways that fit you and their needs? This is an opportunity like no other to free yourself to use what we call ‘structured emergence”, a more natural way to learn and grow that is made for these times.
Join the 2023 cohort to be a part of a community of peers like you who are reinventing how we work.

FAQs
How much expertise do I need to join The ID Way Experience?
The better question to consider might be… How open am I to being challenged? We find that the most successful practitioners are those who are willing to be deeply reflective and experiment with new ways of working.
The ID Way Experience uses a flexible course structure that models the Integrative Development process by frequently responding to what is at the forefront for participants. This means that the program adapts to the pace and needs of the participants in real time. Each participant creates their path to integrating this work based on what they bring to the program and what they want to do next.
What if I commit and then find out I’m not a good fit?
We offer a 100% money-back guarantee. If at any point during the first module, up until May 12, 2023, you decide that The ID Way Experience isn’t right for you, you can get your money back.
However, we invite you to check in with yourself right now. If everything you’ve read so far about The ID Way Experience resonates with you, that’s an excellent sign that this program is for you.
On the other hand, if you’re experiencing objection after objection as you read through the experience description, we encourage you to reach out to us with your concerns.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we do. If you’re unable to pay in full, you’re welcome to pay $375 per month for 8 months.
How is this different from The Narrative Coach Program?
The ID Way Experience is a resourceful space to assess how you show up to yourself, your purpose, your client’s needs, and our planet. It is designed to support your work on yourself and with individuals, groups and organizations. The Narrative Coach Program is based in the same philosophy and uses some of the same models as The ID Way Experience, but goes much deeper into narrative work and is largely focused on teaching practitioners how to coach this way.
Do you offer certification?
While there are many innovative features you can use from the ID Way Experience, it is a personal journey of integration for each of you and it is designed more like a retreat than a classroom. You will receive Certificate of Completion and credit hours, but there is no Certification at this time.
The ID Way Experience will take you deeper.
Our sessions are a space for you to slow down to notice more, find clarity amid the fog, and open up a deeper way to work with clients. It’s your opportunity to go beyond knowing the work to experience and embody the work so that you can access a deeper and stronger place from which to walk alongside others.
